Today, you'll find many of the older homes still gracing many of the streets that were built between 19. In 1910, Glen Echo was annexed to the city of Columbus and the park was dedicated to the city in 1912.

In 1909, an Ohio State publication described the park as a place of beauty where large elm and oak trees shaded a small pond and five little lakes connected by a single stream. At the time the Glen Echo Ravine was turned into a park, which influenced the original layout and character of the neighborhood. It originated in 1909 when the Columbus Real Estate and Improvement Company plotted 47 acres as Indianola Parkview for a master-planned residential community. The name refers to Glen Echo Ravine running along the northern edge of the neighborhood. It's nestled in the far northern part of the University District and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. with shops and restaurants, services, and amenities.
